Many different types of jobs are offered in the medical industry. You don’t have to be a doctor or a nurse if you want to work in a hospital, or even if you want to make money like you do! You can actually work in a Ultrasound Unit operating the equipment. I have been an ultrasound technician for quite a few years now. My job is to operate the machinery while the doctor is meeting with the patient.
By being able to run the machine while he is free to interact with the patient, we have been able to increase the interaction between doctor and Patient. This really helps patients feel like they are an active part in there health care plan.
It is a pretty chill job really. We are in the basement, but the environment is great because most of the people (xray techs as well) are really relaxed and not stuck up.
One of the rewarding parts about the job is seeing the face of the young mothers and fathers as they first see there soon to born Childs little fetus. I figure if I am here seeing this long enough, I won’t have to have one on my own!
We work on both New and Used ultrasound Machines. This allows for us to continue to save the hospital money over the long run. Plus the used machines are not all bad. A Used machine is just a new one a week later.
