Drunk Love

Posted on Wednesday 17 December 2008

I will have one more for the road, I’m trying to kill all the pain, My heart carries a heavy load, and there is no one else to blame, Cause I have loved her for so long, and I didn’t mean to make her cry, But I’ve loved her all so wrong, I wish she give me one more try, Now I walk down this lonely road, Nothing can stop me from thinking, My heart feels like it will explode, so I just keep on drinking and drinking, The jukebox plays our favorite song, it leaves me feeling so empty, I wonder where I went so wrong, I’ll just have me another whiskey, I always thought her love would flow, if she could only be by my side, I guess I broke the marriage code, I know a woman has her pride, Now I have paid a heavy price, she has left me and gone away, She’s no longer in my life, and I just sit here drunk again today, Well I feel like a big ole toad, and there’s nothing that I can do, A prince is what she was owed, she done said that we were through, Sittin here drunk and ashamed, it’s gettin late and I need to go, I guess my drinking is to blame, “Hey bartender, one more for the road.
